Data stored on your device only (no account required)

Classical Quest stores learning progress, practice history, streak data, achievement badges, quiz results, and display preferences locally on your device using your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you create an account and choose to sync it.

Account information (if you sign up)

If you create an account, we collect your email address and an optional display name. For accounts created for children under 13, we collect a parent or guardian's email address. We use Supabase for authentication, which stores credentials securely. We do not store passwords directly.

Learning progress (synced accounts)

If you create an account and choose to sync, we store your learning progress in our database. This includes: vocabulary review schedules (spaced repetition data), practice scores by subject, streak history, and achievement progress. This data is used solely to provide the learning experience across devices.

Payment information (if you subscribe)

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your full credit card number. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI DSS standards. We store only a Stripe customer identifier and subscription status in our database.

Feedback submissions

If you submit feedback through the app, we collect your message, the page you were on, and optionally your name and email address (both are optional and default to "Anonymous").

Email list

If you sign up for updates, we collect your email address and optionally your name. We use this solely to send product updates and will never share it with third parties.

No account required

Children can use Classical Quest without creating an account. All learning progress is stored locally on the device. No personal information is collected from children who use the app without an account.

Parental consent for accounts

Account creation for children under 13 requires a parent or guardian. The parent's email address is collected and used as the primary contact for the account. Parents must provide consent before any personal information is collected from their child. We do not condition a child's participation in activities on disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary.

What we collect from child accounts

For children with accounts, we collect only: a display name (chosen by the parent or child), learning progress data (vocabulary scores, practice history, streak counts), and achievement badges earned. We do not collect physical addresses, phone numbers, photos, or location data from any user.

No ads or student-data advertising

We do not serve advertisements in student mode. We do not use student learning progress to build advertising profiles or show ads based on student practice data. Analytics and campaign measurement tools may be used as described above, but student practice data stays tied to the family account and is not sold.

Latin Tutor safeguards

The Latin Tutor is configured to discuss only educational topics related to Latin grammar, vocabulary, and the classical curriculum. It rejects off-topic requests. No personal information is sent to the AI provider — only the Latin text submitted for translation and the student's learning level.
