๐Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Tap the "Sign In" button in the top navigation bar. You can create an account with your email address and a password, or sign in instantly with Google. No account is required to try the first 10 questions in each subject โ you only need one to save progress, track streaks, and earn achievements.
How do I pick my program level?
After signing in, visit the Practice page. Use the level selector at the top to choose your Trivium stage โ Grammar Stage (Kโ6th Grade), Writing, Intro Latin, or Logic/Rhetoric Stage. Your selection is saved automatically so you pick up right where you left off.
What is the difference between Grammar Stage and Rhetoric Stage?
Grammar Stage (Kโ6th Grade) covers memory-work vocabulary and grammar chants across 3 rotating years. Writing focuses on English grammar and Latin roots. Logic Stage (7thโ8th Grade) introduces formal Latin, logic, and debate. Rhetoric Stage (9thโ12th Grade) progressively covers advanced Latin grammar, translation, literature, and sciences.
How do I use the cycle picker?
The year picker appears at the top of the Practice page. For Grammar Stage students, choose your current year (1, 2, or 3) and the subject you want to drill โ History, Science, Latin, English Grammar, Math, Geography, or Timeline. The content matches what you are studying that year. Logic and Rhetoric Stage students select their grade level instead.
What is classical education and how does Classical Quest align with it?
Classical education uses three stages โ grammar, logic, and rhetoric โ to align teaching with how children naturally learn. Programs like Classical Conversations, Memoria Press, and Veritas Press each implement this model. Classical Quest is built specifically for classical families โ our content is organized by program level (Grammar Stage Kโ6th Grade, Upper Grammar / Writing, Logic Stage 7thโ8th Grade, Rhetoric Stage 9thโ12th Grade) and follows the same vocabulary, grammar, and memory work your student practices each week.
๐ณSubscriptions & Pricing
What is included in the free tier?
Typing practice and all geography games are completely free with no limits. You also get the first 50 Latin vocabulary words and 1 subject per week in the weekly drill, plus grammar reference tables. No account required to start.
How do I subscribe to a paid plan?
Visit the Pricing page (accessible from the navigation menu) and choose the plan that fits your family. We offer monthly and annual billing, individual student plans, and a Family plan for multiple students. Payment is handled securely through Stripe โ we never see or store your card details.
Are there any coupon codes available?
We occasionally offer promotional codes through our newsletter and classical education community partnerships. If you have a coupon code, enter it on the checkout page before completing your purchase. Check the Pricing page for current promotional offers.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime from your Account Settings page โ look for the "Manage Subscription" button. You can also email us at info@classicalquest.com and we will process the cancellation for you. There are no cancellation fees and you keep access through the end of your current billing period.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Web subscriptions are tied to your account โ not your device. Simply sign in on the new device with the same email and password (or Google account) you used originally, and your subscription and all progress will be there.
Do you offer a family or group discount?
Yes! The Family plan lets you add multiple student profiles under one parent account at a lower per-student cost. Each student gets their own progress tracking, streaks, and achievements. Check the Pricing page for current Family plan rates.
โจFeatures
How does spaced repetition work?
Spaced repetition shows you vocabulary and grammar at increasing intervals. When you get a question right, it is scheduled further into the future. When you miss one, it comes back sooner. This means you spend more time on what you are still learning and less time on what you already know โ making study sessions more efficient.
What is Mastery Review mode?
Mastery Review mode is designed for students preparing to prove mastery of all memory work across 8 subjects. This mode focuses on rapid recall, tracks your accuracy per subject, and highlights weak areas so you know exactly where to focus before proof day.
How do I use the Latin Tutor?
Navigate to the Tutor page from the main menu. Type or paste a Latin sentence, phrase, or grammar question and the Latin Tutor will help you translate it, break down the grammar, and explain the underlying rules. The Tutor adapts its explanations to three age levels (young, middle, and advanced) and only discusses Latin, grammar, and classical curriculum topics.
Is the Latin Tutor safe for students?
Yes. The Latin Tutor is specifically configured for educational use. It only discusses Latin, grammar, and classical curriculum topics. All responses are filtered for educational appropriateness, and it will not engage with off-topic questions. Parents can also enable Student Mode for additional safeguards.
Can I print worksheets?
Yes! On the Practice page, look for the print/export icon. You can generate printable PDF worksheets for any subject and cycle โ great for offline review, car rides, or co-op community day prep. Worksheets include vocabulary lists, fill-in-the-blank exercises, and matching activities.
How do I export flashcards?
From the Practice page, tap the export button to download your vocabulary as a flashcard set. You can export to a printable PDF (for physical flashcards) or as a CSV file compatible with Anki, Quizlet, and other flashcard apps.
What subjects does Classical Quest cover?
For Grammar Stage students, Classical Quest covers 8 classical memory-work subjects, plus typing practice: Latin, Timeline & History, Math, Science, English Grammar, Geography, Fine Arts, and Bible. For Logic and Rhetoric Stage students, the focus shifts to Latin grammar, vocabulary, translation, and reading comprehension across Years 1 through 4.
๐ชFor Parents
How do I set up Student Mode?
Go to Account Settings and toggle on "Student Mode" for any student profile. Student Mode simplifies the interface, hides account management options, removes external links, and adds an extra layer of content filtering on the Latin Tutor. Your student gets a focused, distraction-free learning experience.
Where is the parent dashboard?
The parent dashboard is accessible from your Account Settings page โ tap "Parent Dashboard" or "Student Progress." From there you can see each child's activity at a glance: subjects practiced, time spent, streak history, accuracy trends, and achievements earned.
How do I track my child's progress?
The parent dashboard shows a summary of each student's activity including total questions answered, accuracy by subject, current streak, time spent per session, and which memory-work items they are struggling with. You can also view detailed session history to see exactly what was practiced and when.
Can multiple students use one account?
Yes! With the Family plan, you can create separate student profiles under a single parent account. Each child gets their own progress, streaks, achievements, and level selection. Switch between profiles from the account menu โ no need to sign out and back in.
Does my child need their own email address?
No. Child profiles are created under your parent account and do not require a separate email address. Only the parent account needs an email for sign-in. This keeps things simple and safe for younger students.
Is my child's data safe?
Yes. We take children's privacy seriously. We collect minimal data (only what is needed for the app to function), do not sell any personal information, and comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). See our Privacy Policy for full details.
