Complex Book 5, Lesson Page 1, Section 5
Multiply fractions that contain imaginary coefficients by applying the standard rule (multiply numerators, multiply denominators, simplify), including canceling i and substituting i² = -1 where they appear.
Fractions with i follow the same multiplication rules as ordinary fractions: multiply straight across, then simplify. When i appears in both numerator and denominator, it cancels; when i × i appears, substitute i² = -1.
