Classical Quest is an independent practice tool. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or officially connected to the American Classical League, the National Junior Classical League, or the ACL/NJCL National Latin Exam. The National Latin Exam (NLE) currently offers eight exam options. The five standard exams have 40 multiple-choice questions; the three reading-comprehension exams have 36 multiple-choice questions based primarily on Latin passages. Classical Quest offers independent, original practice by broad preparation tier, not official exam divisions.
The official NLE time limit is 45 minutes. NLE administration guidance also notes a 40-minute limit when demographic information is completed before exam day. Classical Quest's mixed practice timer is shorter: 20 original questions in 20 minutes, with explanations after the round.
Grammar Stage students usually start with Intro practice. Early Logic Stage students often use Beginning practice, later Logic Stage students use Intermediate practice, and Rhetoric Stage students use Advanced practice. Use the current NLE syllabus and teacher or sponsor guidance to choose the official exam option.
