What Happens in This Episode?
The Phaeacians carry Odysseus to Ithaca while he sleeps. He wakes on his own island but does not recognize it at first, until Athena reveals the truth and helps him plan.
Athena disguises Odysseus as a beggar. He goes first to Eumaeus, the loyal swineherd, whose humble hospitality contrasts sharply with the arrogance of the suitors in the palace.
Telemachus returns from his own journey, and father and son are reunited. Together they prepare for the dangerous work of reclaiming the household without alerting the suitors too early.
